15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

Calvary Temple Youth Church

We are the Omega Generation of ICGC Calvary Temple

The Calvary Temple Youth Ministry was conceived and birthed from the adult service of Calvary Temple, I.C.G.C., Sakumono in the year 1998. This vision was perceived by Aunty Brigitte Kpodar, who had witnessed the powerful things God did amongst the youth of the Omega Generation of Christ Temple and thought, ‘this could be done here also’.
Pastor Abass Awuni, who was instrumental in planting the roots of this ministry, and Pastor Ismaila Awudu, encouraged us to burn for the cause of Jesus Christ. Some youth would struggle getting permission from home to attend the meetings from their suspicious parents or struggle getting extra transportation fares whilst others felt plain lazy after a Sunday afternoon lunch. The numbers thus fluctuated from Sunday to Sunday.
At our meetings, we studied the books and characters of the Bible and uncovered many hidden talents by participating in the various facets of our church service like the praise and worship time. These meetings were characterized by amazing prophecies we received through which God spoke about what great people we were going to be in the near future and about the awesome levels God was going to take the youth ministry. We would be about twelve people in a meeting and would receive a prophecy about a thousand young people on fire for Jesus gathered at a Sunday meeting. We continually made the confession and saw ourselves as world changers, nation builders and inventors, shaping our generation through godly principles.
God, understanding times and seasons, brought in Uncle Bijou Doe, just when Pastor Abass was due to leave Calvary Temple to embark on a different mission in his ministry. He, with other able ministers, and our dear Aunty Brigitte continued to build on the strong foundations that had been established to make Calvary Temple Youth, the powerful ministry we see today. On 3rd July 2005, Teen Chapel was born! Indeed, this ministry has come a long way. It is amazing watching hundreds of young lives being transformed, spiritually, morally, socially and academically. The 2008 camp meeting that brought other I.C.G.C. youth ministries together with the Calvary Temple Youth Ministry is a sign of greater things yet to come.
Our story has however just begun. The Almighty has more levels in store. To God be the Glory!

Our Departments

PRAYER Members in the prayer team normally intercede for the church and church members. Individuals with special needs and prayer request are also addressed. They meet regularly Saturdays from 4pm to 5pm to pray. USHERING Ushers play a critical role in the house of God. They welcome people who come to worship. Both old and new guests are accorded with a pleasant reception and assisted to their seats. They meet every Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm to 5:00pm to deliberate on ways to enhance their operations. MUSIC MINISTRY THE CHOIR is responsible to minister each Sunday morning during service and also on special occasions. They rehearse every Saturdays from 3pm-5pm. MEDIA With growing technological advancement the multi media group ensures that the service is enhanced with modern gadgets to the benefit of the gospel. They are also responsible for photography and recording of each service and special events. The media team also handles all the social media accounts of the church.

DRAMA AND CHOREOGRAPHY Developing innovative ways in preaching the gospel cannot be relegated to the background. The drama and choreography group of the church uses mime to carry out the message of Christ and other social norms across to members. EVANGELISM, FOLLOW-UP AND DISCIPLESHIP This ministry builds on the mandate of Christ to bring the gospel to teenagers in very relevant ways. Their activities include a holistic approach in sharing the gospel, following-up on them and helping them grow so they become more like Christ each day. CHARITY AND HOSPITALITY To give hope to the incarcerated, the charity and hospitality ministry plays this crucial role of ministering to the financially handicapped in and outside of the church. Their activities include visits to the prisons, orphanages and other socially disadvantaged teenagers where they also share the gospel of salvation. INTERIOR DECOR Creating an ambiance for service and other occasions is the responsibility of the interior decor department. They are in charge of décor particularly for church service.
